SuperCell Clash of Clan is a mega hit game, no doubt about that. They really hit a big jackpot on that game. It's a mega hit and top grossing in both IOS and android platform. Supercell just releases a new game Clash Royale, that potentially be able to match the popularity of COC. Clash Royale combined the gameplay of MOBA and CCG to create an outstanding mobile game, from my point of view at least. It got the feel of clash of Clan but not COC because they made a twist in introducing MOBA gameplay. It's super addictive and genuine lot of fun.

I could not comprehend my amazement on the beauty of Clash Royale. The bright, color, vibrant, detailed art style is outstanding. Supercercell make sure that everything on this game is perfect including the choice of fonts, the cards, and the layout. The most important thing is that, you can play clash royale one handedly because the layout is in portrait mode thus even you are commuting on a subway, the game is still playable. Unfortunately, almost everything you can do in the game is locked behind very aggressive, very long time gating.

Yes you read that right, as expected Supercell adopts how they made money out of COC, to make players wait around, and to make money off their boredom Unfortunately, though, the fast-paced, player-versus-player gameplay does not work well — at all — with Supercell’s rampant time-gating.

Take a peek on what's inside the Clash Royale and see for yourself the beauty of it.

The game takes place on a portrait-oriented battle arena with two tower-defended lanes flanking your base. And then you summon a unit coming from the deck of eight cards which you can build. The units have different abilities, skills, strengths, and weaknesses. But the main idea is to destroy the center tower of the opposite side and protecting yours too. Matches only take a handful of minutes — almost the perfect balance between a short burst of gaming you can sneak in while waiting in line, and just long enough to make weighty strategic decisions. The problem, though, is that you just can’t progress by playing when you feel like it. You can only progress when Clash Royale’s myriad timers give you permission. Not unless you use real money to speed things up.

This might be a little bit of a problem for people that is used to play RPG, because although you can play anytime at unlimited number of times, you cannot gain anything. No experience upgrade, no level up, no gold, nothing. Everything is locked in excruciating time based chests. In Clash Royale, you have four treasure chest slots. If you play a match, you have a chance to get chests of varying rarity (silver, bronze, gold). However these chest are locked in time based mechanism. For bronze, it would be 15 seconds which is still acceptable. However for silver, it would take a freaking 3 hours. Not only that, what you can get on the chests are not even that great, some gold, or some common grade units.
